You have a bunch of Crypto and want to make a transaction. Let’s say you are trying to send 500 ETH (baller!). The pseudo-anonymity that Crypto provides is something we all love about Crypto, but let’s face it, a wallet address is a long zig zag of numbers that are, quite frankly, impossible to remember or memorize. **⛽ What is Gas?**

Even though blockchains work in a decentralized manner, nothing is free, and blockchains have to find a way to reward the network that operates and verifies transactions. The advantage of decentralized technology is that even though there is a cost because it works in a decentralized way, validators can earn for operating the network but don’t have a centralized authority to gouge and overcharge the same way banks and other networks do.

On the Ethereum blockchain, gas is the fee needed to successfully transact a contract on the platform. The gas then pays the validators a fee to cover the resources needed to run the network, with the price of gas being determined by supply, demand, and network traffic at the time of a transaction.

**What is a Gas Fee?**

The gas fee is what you pay to transact on Ethereum, with the gas fee being comprised of two things:

-   **Gas Limit:**  The maximum amount of gas you’re willing to pay to transact.
-   **Gas Price:**  The amount you want to pay per unit of gay as a fee.

The cost of transacting is set automatically by Ethereum. Even if you set your Gas Limit very high, you will only be charged for the actual computational costs. Gas price on the other hand often fluctuates depending on how busy the network is. When you set a higher Gas Price, your transaction will be processed sooner. The lower a user estimates their Gas Limit, the lower priority that transaction will receive. The Ethereum validators then are awarded this fee for staking their ether and verifying new blocks on the chain.

**🔗 Gas Fee and NFT**

Despite growing competition, Ethereum remains the most dominant blockchain when it comes to NFT. It has some of the most popular NFT projects (BYAC and Cryptopunks), NFT artists (Pak and Beeple) and NFT marketplaces (OpenSea).

Gas fees, therefore, are a very important part of NFT investing and selling since all transactions on the blockchain need transactional costs. Previously, Ethereum required exorbitant amounts of energy to operate, using the proof-of-work consensus mechanism. This led to the monumental yet complicated “Merge” in which Ethereum switched over to a proof-of-stake concept to help alleviate gas fees by lowering energy consumption (by 99%!). Regardless, anyone transacting on Ethereum needs to understand the transactional costs of working with one of the leading global blockchains, allowing users to maximize their investments.

## 🪂 Airdrops

Like the literal term, a crypto airdrop is a marketing strategy by which free coins or tokens are sent to recipients for free, or in exchange for a very small task. The goal of a crypto airdrop is to help with the promotion of your community and diversify the circulation of new crypto. For example, when OmiseGo released their OMG token in 2017, anyone who held Ethereum received OMG tokens for free directly into their wallet.

Bored Ape Yacht Club, the famous NFT collection, did something similar. Upon the release of their official token, ApeCoin, 150 million tokens were distributed to holders of BAYC NFT. This meant NFT holders not only held the value of their NFT but were literally airdropped up to 10,950 APE coins, worth thousands of dollars upon issuing, just for having a Bored Ape NFT. Although some airdrops are completely free, others require a small task to receive, usually something that promotes engagement like joining the communities official Twitter or another social media platform.

In the same way a bounty hunter has to track down his target, Crypto bounties require more work than an airdrop. These are tasks and jobs that community members have to complete in order to receive a token reward. The tasks performed depend on each community. For example, a common bounty is to offer “bug bounties,” offering rewards for users who find vulnerabilities in the coding of the project. These can be highly technical and require expertise, but the rewards can far outweigh a standard airdrop. For example, one programmer was able to find a security flaw in Coinbase and received a $30,000 reward bounty for their effort.

Technical bounties are not the only type of bounty community members can earn. Many projects need extensive help with marketing, brand recognition, exposure, and networking. Crypto bounties allow the community to reward the members that expand the brand name through things like; networking, social media campaigns, content contests, etc.

Airdrops and Bounties are two great ways to begin interacting within your favorite crypto community, with each benefiting a key area of Crypto. First, airdrops allow crypto to spread to new users, diversifying its token base, and offering random rewards for holders. Airdrops are also a smart marketing technique as they require little effort, but promote your work effectively. Airdrop recipients often do not need to do anything more than joining a social media platform, hold a certain token or NFT, and can receive their airdropped prize. Bounties make sure the community is engaged and has enough moderation/content to keep the community healthy and attractive to new users. Whereas older systems like YouTube or Tik Tok own your content, use it to their advantage, and then give you a very small % of ad revenue, Bounties offer Crypto communities a direct way to create and benefit the community and earn for doing so.

The first important term to know is “minting”. This refers to the process of making a new NFT by introducing data to the blockchain, creating a detailed record transaction that is recorded forever.

There are a few different ways to mint your works, and most NFT markets will give you their unique spin on minting. Here are a handful of the most well-known instances to help demonstrate this:

The Wyvern protocol, developed by Opensea, is the gold standard for NFT contracts and enables transfers, editions, and auctions for your NFT. The closest Web3 counterpart to a site like Amazon is this site, where you can buy and sell anything from art to collectibles to virtual real estate.

In addition, what is the source of the NFT, is it related to NFT gaming, the product of a famous or upcoming digital artist, or simply a viral NFT collection that is getting hyped by the crypto community as a whole.

Anyone can enter the NFT marketplace by:

1.  Creating a new account on the specified marketplace
2.  Connecting your crypto wallet to your account

There are 3 types of NFT Marketplace;  **General NFT Marketplace**,  **Exclusive NFT Marketplace**, and  **Specific NFT Marketplace**. The main problem that arises with this market is the lack of liquidity. The limited nature of the NFT collections creates value, but the target audience will therefore also be smaller. For example, if you are Apple and make iPhones, you make a product for a global market that is trying to sell to as many customers as you can. The item is common and generally affordable, so the market is bigger. Now if you own the Mona Lisa and are trying to sell it, the market is completely different. You’re looking for someone who can spend 500 million USD to buy one painting, so the market will be very small, but since the Mona Lisa is so rare, the investment will hold its value better than an iPhone. There is a reason Coca-cola spends over 4 billion dollars a year just on advertising. They could probably take a year off of any advertising and see no drop in annual sales, so why the never-ending onslaught of advertising? Coca-cola knows that just because you are on top, you are not guaranteed to stay there. It is one of the first large cola brands, making them historically significant, so much so that if you go to a restaurant and want a soda, you’re very likely just to assume they have either Coca-cola or Pepsi.

Blue Chip NFT need branding that makes them historically significant with strong cultural relevance. No matter where on earth you buy a coke, you’re likely to get a product that has a similar taste and standard of quality. Blue Chip stocks often are determined by their ability to satisfy their investors and stockholders, providing long-term returns for those that are long-term investors. CryptoPunks was able to establish itself simply because of how early that project came to the NFT space. Dogecoin is considered to have poor crypto tokenomics but has become a leading crypto simply from their use of a meme dog figure as their branding. Who represents your brand is another critical factor. Every year sports athletes and actors receive millions of dollars in endorsements. ## **🎴What is an NFT?**

NFT stands for “non-fungible token”. To simplify it, think of an NFT like a trading card that is one of a kind, and that unique trading card is stored on the blockchain. NFTs are unique digital assets that are exchangeable, whose authenticity is validated by the immutable nature of blockchain technology.

## **💻How does it work?**

NFTs are individual tokens with valuable information stored in them. Currently, most NFTs are on the Ethereum chain, a public ledger that records transactions, though other chains have their version of NFTs including Binance and Solana, among others. Each NFT has a market value that is determined by supply and demand, same as any other asset.

The most classic example of an NFT are those used for art, especially pictures, and like their physical counterpart, NFT can be bought and sold. NFT’s uniqueness comes from their ability for ownership verification, item validation, and sale history to be easily verified via the transaction history written to the blockchain.

## **✅The immutable nature of the blockchain**

The main support for the use of NFT technology can always be traced back to the blockchain. Item verification is a crucial part of a number of business transactions. Are you selling a rare piece of art at Sotheby’s? Someone needs to verify that what you’re selling is authentic. Selling a large shipment of machine parts to another business to use in manufacturing? You better believe the receiver is going to want to verify the authenticity and quality of said product.

How important can NFTs become? Let’s crunch some numbers. Currently counterfeit goods account for over 3% of all world trade, with an annual revenue of around 500 billion dollars. Fake and counterfeit items have been a thing since the dawn of time, but  **NFT is the solution**.

For example, imagine you want to buy a new Chanel handbag. They sure are beautiful, and they sure are expensive. A friend down the street offers to sell you her old Chanel handbag at a discount. What a great deal, but since you are not purchasing the item from a verified Chanel seller, how can you really be sure the bag is authentic? Some fakes are so good they can pass an eye test, and counterfeit producers are experts at faking realistic results to fool consumers.

Instead, let’s imagine an alternative scenario: The original buyer buys the Chanel handbag. The physical item exists, but along with the purchase, the buyer is also given an NFT of said bag, validating its serial number, manufacturing date and place of sale. The product now utilizes the validity of blockchain technology to verify the physical item. The bag can now be sold on the secondary market, the NFT can be transferred to a new owner, and the product is still verifiable, and can be bought and sold over and over again without losing credibility as being authentic. Lamborghini’s racing team, for example, has begun using NFTs to authenticate car parts. Now imagine this technology in a field where verification is even more crucial, like surgical items used in life saving healthcare. Overall, using blockchain technology to validate real goods through NFT verification remains one of its strongest features.

Digital goods are even more credible when backed up by NFT technology since there is no risk of counterfeit, as the digital goods are tied to the NFT. Increasingly consumers don’t just want to show off what they own in the real world, but in their digital persona’s as well. A great example of this is the use of the Bored Yacht Ape Club NFT for personal avatars among crypto enthusiasts.

As the world becomes more virtual and digital assets become more prevalent, NFTs will be an important part of digital commerce in a variety of industries. Let’s take a look at some of the ways we can use NFT.

## **🎮What are NFT used for?**

-   **Digital Content:** Content creators can use blockchain technology to verify their digital content. Music, art, pictures, video can all be NFT, and sellers can utilize this technology to prove their digital content is authentic, unique, or rare. This also protects small market artists, since their work becomes better protected against counterfeit.
-   **Gaming Items:**  One of the most lucrative business markets currently is video games, and in-game monetization makes video game companies billions each year. People are willing to pay hundreds, if not thousands of dollars for unique in-game items, but ultimately the item still belongs to the manufacturer. The player’s investment is profitable for the company, and not the player. NFTs allow players to seize control of their in-game assets, allowing players to not only customize their game, but profit while doing so.
-   **Manufacturing and data verification:**  Most global trade involves many different centralized corporations trusting each other enough to freely trade goods and data. NFTs streamline this process by making data points decentralized, so verification of produced goods, or shared data can be more reliable.
-   **DNS — Domain Name System:**  NFTs provide you with a domain with an easy to remember name. This works like a website domain name, making it memorable and valuable.

## **🎯Where to start?**

Currently the biggest and most reliable market for NFT is  [OpenSea](https://opensea.io/), though other markets exist, and specific markets exist primarily for one unique form of NFT, for example an NFT auction market specifically for one video game created in-game.

## **🤔 First stop, let’s talk about who they are.**

Social media has turned the relationship between customers and brands — Which is why the community manager role is vital. Simply put, a community manager is a bridge between customers and IP brands.

The most critical part of this role is that you gotta build up the brand’s personality and customer trust, which can ultimately lead to increased awareness and company performance.

## **😲 But what do they do anyway?**

Well, Community managers can come from a variety of backgrounds. They can come from engineers and human resources to journalism. Anything can make a great CM because being one is not determined by experience. It’s all about the skill.

**_Let’s dive in_**

1️⃣First, a community manager must be knowledgeable about and across the business. They should be able to rely on their experiences with their brand to confidently address their audiences or tap into internal resources to handle any issues that may arise in the community. Beyond a working knowledge of businesses, community managers must also build productive, professional relationships internally and externally to be a more authentic and reliable brand.

2️⃣ Secondly, community managers gotta be extremely adaptable to preserve and promote the brand tone and event. A long checklist is what they have in the morning with all things needed to do daily. This role can sometimes be boring. The opportunity for this role is critical when you can see new faces, chat with them and create a healthy and professional relationship with partners, contributors, and community members.

3️⃣ Beyond having good soft skills, the greatest community managers are always looking into the current hot topics and trends. By keeping up with these issues, community managers can better engage with the right audiences and provide them with the most recent information and best practices.

## **Why are they so important?**

As mentioned above, community managers bridge the gap between customers and brands; in other words, They will be the ones who cover the voice of the brand as well as bring the brand’s image into the everyday stories in the community.

Community managers also document and report the engagement they notice on a minimum of a monthly basis, in addition to the direct connection between the brand and its audience. The community manager team will mainly observe the feedback from the members so that they can assist in determining whether or not followers are perplexed and what sorts of changes they observe in online forums. To engage target audiences the most successfully, some managers claim to have acquired an intuition for the psychology of their audience. As a result, they can adapt and alter their outreach strategy.

Lastly, community managers keep in mind their ideal audience, shaping content and communications to target the right audience rather than simply building a larger one.

The secret ingredient to becoming a DAO Contributor, or someone who works full-time as a core contributor to a project, is to have both on-chain and off-chain credentials.

**🎉  _Here’s some practical advice for breaking in as a contributor. These are our top quick tips._**

## **Active Calls 📞**

DAO’s runners are in a complex network that connects them directly or indirectly. Either way, you can always start to search for those people in their Discord servers. Keep your eyes on the “in-search-of” or “DAO-recruit” channels, where they will list positions you might be interested in to start.

## **Social Media 📱**

You might have seen all the calls or recruit tweets looking for new hires as you surf through tweets. For some DAOs, this is one of the best ways to look for people to fill the needed roles, like social management or developers. The best advice is to check the tweet owner’s profile before reaching out to them. Make sure that you have what it takes to solve their needs.

## **LinkedIn (or Job Board) 💻**

Whether web2 or web3, you can still see all the active recruits on LinkedIn. All you need to do is make sure your CVs look good before submitting them. Another tip is to look for DAO owners on Linkedin. Since this is a professional platform, make sure that you have some cold message tricks up your sleeves.

## **Bounties 💵**

This one is quite slick, but hear us out.

Bounties come when DAO contributors get busy or cannot be contacted when the DAO is in need. That’s when the bounties come in. You can reach out to the owners, offer them what they need, and earn rewards.

## **Ambassadors program 🙋**

The most well-known way to join a Dao is to become an ambassador of the project you like. By becoming one, you can build up your profile as a professional contributor, which comes with cool perks (including rewards).
